Do you need a UK presence?
We have successfully assisted a number of foreign enterprises to establish a presence in the UK. Peal Partnership is an accredited member of UK Trade & Investment's Advisory Network.
One key question is 'What form should the UK presence take?' The options include a UK company, UK limited liability partnership [LLP], a branch, an office, or none of the above. There are certain registration and filing requirements for some of these structures. We have experience of both setting up appropriate structures, and handling the subsequent filing submissions.
Peal Partnership is an approved HMRC [HM Revenue & Customs] agent. This means for example that it is able to submit Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE returns to HMRC on behalf of clients.
The VAT treatment of the UK operation of foreign enterprises can be a complex area. In our experience a number of foreign businesses do not obtain refunds of VAT to which they are entitled.
Peal set up a business networking club in 2004. We work closely with a number of organisations covering a range of expertise including IT, sales, marketing, human resources, banking and law - and are able to make targetted introductions when appropriate.
